Transportation Support

Mobility is a key factor in a young person's independence, self-esteem, and accessibility to experiences and opportunities. But young people experiencing foster care simply have no structured path to safely and legally operate motor vehicles. Additionally, it’s nearly impossible for them to raise the funds or apply for credit required to purchase a vehicle. With your support, A Found Future will assist foster youth in obtaining driver’s education, an instructional permit, a driver’s license, a vehicle, and insurance.* By doing so, we enable them access to educational, social, and employment opportunities that too often elude this worthy population.

Our Offerings:

  • Online driver’s education

  • Applying for and obtaining an instructional permit

  • Professional driver’s training and roadway practice

  • Completion of practical test and an operator’s license

  • Financial aid for auto purchase

  • Financial aid for auto insurance

  • Network of auto mechanic partners for maintenance and repair

*A Found Future follows the foremost guidance to ensure safety behind the wheel. Since motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for 15-20 year-olds, safety is key. Learn more about the CDC's Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) Systems Reduce Crash Injuries and Deaths
